To the Diocesan Household,
As the current Chair of the Board of Directors of the Whitaker School of Theology I wish to personally thank Denise Crenshaw for her many years of service to the diocese through her leadership in the Whitaker School and recognize her accomplishments. During nearly a decade of service her work reflected her many gifts and talents and her legacy will be felt as we continue to advance both the programs and mission of the ministry.
Times of transition can elicit a range of emotion including fear and uncertainty at one end of the spectrum and excitement and transformation at the other end. We are blessed to be loved by a God that has arms big enough to hold it all and to promise to be with us through the entire journey. I encourage everyone in the diocesan household to resist in engaging in speculation and fear-based gossip and instead to join me and the Bishop and the rest of the Whitaker School Household as we look forward to next exciting chapter in the life of this vital ministry here in the diocese.
It is my pledge and responsibility to everyone that Whitaker will continue as a full partner in ministry with the Diocese of Michigan. Whitaker will be moving forward with all current and future scheduled offerings and programs.
The school will be working closely with Ms. Jo Gantzer, Canon for Lifelong Learning and all available resources to see us through this time of transition. I ask your prayers and continued support for Denise and Whitaker as we face the future with optimism and faith.
The Rev. George Davinich
Chair - Whitaker School of Theology
Inquires and further information about the transition for the school can be directed to the Whitaker School of Theology board chair, the Rev. George Davinich. Davinich is rector of Grace Church, Southgate.
